The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee will present a festive holiday concert and reception on Sunday, December 10Mariachi Monumental de México will perform A Mariachi Christmas at 2 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave. A Mariachi Christmas will feature Mexican and American Christmas favorites, followed by a festive holiday reception. This celebration of holiday traditions is perfect for all ages!

Founded in 2009 in the heart of Chicago by five friends, Mariachi Monumental has brought the best traditional and folkloric mariachi repertoire to Chicago and surrounding areas. With members from diverse regions of México and the United States, Mariachi Monumental de México has over 30 years of professional mariachi music experience. Fine Arts audiences will remember their joyful performance in 2019.

Fine Arts concerts are free, although the audience is invited to make a donation. This season is supported with a generous bequest from the late Doris Peterson, a long-time Fine Arts Series patron. Remaining concerts in the season are Alicia Berneche, soprano in a solo recital February 11, Matthew Beck clarinet trio May 5.

The intent of Fine Arts concerts is to bring high quality, professional music to the northwest side of Chicago, free of charge. The series is a program of Carlson Community Services, a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to connect the Irving Park community with programs that enrich lives through education, culture and service.
