The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is excited to present Mariachi Monumental de Mexico in the final concert of its 25th season. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave.
Founded by five friends in 2010, Mariachi Monumental de Mexico brings the best of traditional and folkloric mariachi music to Chicago and the midwest. Members are from diverse areas of Mexico and the United States and are active educators and ambassadors of mariachi music. Mariachi Monumental de Mexico makes regular appearances at Chicago Bulls, White Sox and Fire Soccer Club games. Mariachi Monumental de Mexico will play a mix of traditional mariachi music as well as popular songs.
Noted violinist and Mayfair resident John Ling is a member of the acclaimed mariachi group. Fine Arts audiences will remember Ling and his string quartet from our Spring 2018 concert.
The concert is free, though donations are welcome. A reception with the artists follows the concert, hosted by the Fine Arts Committee. The concerts are relaxed and casual, lasting about an hour. Perfect for families!
