Harding Ave. Russ will be accompanied by guitarist Giles Corey. We are planning for an in-person, masked and distanced concert, however, the concert may be rescheduled depending on the status of Covid-19 infections and Chicago Department of Health guidance. Russ Green was born on the west side of Chicago and studied film at Southern Illinois University. While in school he began playing harmonica and was influenced by the music of Jimi Hendrix. After seeing blues great Sugar Blue play at a Chicago club, Russ’s lifelong passion for the harmonica was sealed. He counts his influencers and mentors as Sugar Blue and Billy Branch. Russ has played, toured and recorded with John Primer and Lurrie Bell. He performs locally and internationally and is also a featured harmonica player on the Chicago Blues Harmonica Project CD. Russ lives on the northwest side of Chicago.
