Sunday, October 10th, 2:00 p.m.*

The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is pleased to present the first concert in our 2021-2022 season. Internationally recognized blues harmonica player and singer Russ Green will perform on Sunday, October 10th at 2:00 pm at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave. Russ will be accompanied by guitarist Giles Corey. We are planning for an in-person, masked and distanced concert, however, the concert may be rescheduled depending on the status of Covid-19 infections and Chicago Department of Health guidance. Check this space prior to the concert, or check our Facebook page. The concert is free; donations are welcome!

Russ Green was born on the west side of Chicago and studied film at Southern Illinois University. While in school he began playing harmonica and was influenced by the music of Jimi Hendrix. After seeing blues great Sugar Blue play at a Chicago club, Russ’s lifelong passion for the harmonica was sealed. He counts his influencers and mentors as Sugar Blue and Billy Branch. Russ has played, toured and recorded with John Primer and Lurrie Bell. He performs locally and internationally and is also a featured harmonica player on the Chicago Blues Harmonica Project CD. Russ lives on the northwest side of Chicago.

The Irving Park Fine Arts Concert Series is in its 28th season of bringing high quality, professional musical and theatrical events to the Irving Park neighborhood. The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is a program of Carlson Community Services, a non-profit serving the Irving Park community with programs that enrich lives through education, culture and service.
