The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is pleased to begin its 25th season with a solo recital by pianist Wael Farouk. The concert is Sunday, October 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church. Dr. Farouk will perform piano works of the Romantic era.

Praised as a “formidable and magnificent pianist” by the New York Concert Review, Dr. Farouk has had an extensive performing career. He commands a vast repertoire of more than 70 concertos and 60 solo programs including the complete piano works of J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff. Dr. Farouk directs the keyboard studies program at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and is on the piano faculty at Roosevelt University. Dr. Farouk performed for Fine Arts patrons in 2017 as part of the Carthage Trio.

Other concerts in the series include blues artist Bear Williams and his band performing a Christmas show on December 9th; Mary Jo Neher, horn and Joe Burgio, organ on February 17th and John Ling and his mariachi band on March 24th.

All concerts are at 2:00 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave. The concerts are free of charge, but donations are gladly welcomed. A reception with the artists will be held after each concert, hosted by the Fine Arts Committee. Dates and programs are subject to change.
