In a typical season, we begin harvesting in June, with weekly harvests taking place every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Please note new time.) Harvested vegetables are delivered by volunteers to the Irving Park Community Food Pantry Wednesday morning. Depending on weather, harvests often extend until late October.
Vegetables harvested include lettuce, radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans, carrots, Swiss chard, and a variety of herbs. Since 2009, over 7,000 pounds of fresh produce have been grown and delivered.
Due to Covid-19, we are working in smaller groups and following the guidance of NeighborSpace for safe gardening practices. Please sign up for our newsletter to be notified of when harvests are taking place.
